A boxer from Bushey continued his climb through the ranks with the biggest victory of his career at the iconic York Hall, Bethnal Green, on Saturday. Miles Shinkwin, 26, won his Southern Area light-heavyweight title bout 97-95 on points against Portsmouth’s Joel McIntyre. The sky is now the limit for Miles, who has won all nine of his fights. However, Miles’ victory wasn’t all plain sailing as he experienced breathing problems early on in the fight. He said: “From round two to round five I really struggled to breathe and I got headbutted as well as getting a cut above my eye and I was struggling with my sight, which wasn’t ideal.” Apart from that minor setback, Miles boxed superbly throughout keeping McIntyre at bay with his terrific jab.
