BLUE PETER: Seven-year-old from Bushey receives special award after writing into TV show

A seven-year-old from Bushey has been awarded a special membership card for Reveley Lodge Victorian House and Garden after she wrote into television show Blue Peter to tell them how much she enjoyed spending time there.

Alina Collins decided to write into the CBBC programme to let them know about the beauty of Reveley Lodge, which she regularly enjoys with her mum Usma. The pair love visiting the gardens and seeing the scarecrow, rocketship and helping out in the garden.

Usma Collins told BUSHEYNews: “We have lived in the area for 14 years but it wasn’t until lockdown that we discovered the lodge and how beautiful and peaceful it is. Alina had an operation, so she was in a wheelchair and we found visiting and learning about its history really interesting and a better option than going to a playground and having access issues.”

Alina was also excited to receive her fourth Blue Peter badge for her efforts which she wears proudly. She hopes that Blue Peter will come and visit Reveley Lodge at some point in the future.

Granville Taylor, Chairman of Reveley Lodge Trust and Barry Hyman, Chairman of The Friends of Reveley gave Usma and Alina a backstage tour of the House and a sneak preview of the new goldfish arrivals in the mini pond.
