A former Watford FC player has made a lifelong fan’s dream come true by visiting him on his 100th birthday.
Former Hornets player Ian Bolton had the honour of meeting centenarian Stanley at Burford House Care Home in Chorleywood.
Stanley, who celebrated his 100th birthday on December 23, is a lifelong supporter of the club and has attended matches since he was a boy.
Ian took the time to chat with Stanley about his memories of supporting the team throughout the decades. They exchanged stories about memorable matches and favourite players, and shared their love for the club. Stanley was also presented with a personalised shirt as a token of appreciation for his support.
Stanley said: “It is a total surprise, and I am thrilled about the effort made by everyone.”
