BIG WIN: Anonymous Chorleywood resident nets £60,000 prize from Postcode Lottery

A Chorleywood resident has been left with a very pleasant surprise after winning a combined £60k from the People’s Postcode Lottery.

The villager, who wished to remain anonymous, received the windfall after their postcode, WD3 5RL, was announced as a winning location on Sunday, February 27. Winning the £30,000 Street Prize from the competition, the lucky player was holding two tickets, doubling their money.

The winning resident said: “It’s absolutely amazing. I wouldn’t have dreamt in a million years that it would be me. You watch the adverts, and the kids sing along to the tune on the radio.

“When I told the kids I said: ‘someone’s been knocking on my door, and someone has been ringing my bell’ and they just looked at me. I said I’ve won some money and they were like: ‘No way, no way!’”

When asked what they would do with their new thousands in cash, the resident stated: “My daughter is planning a trip to Florida for the family, so we’ll go there in the summer, I think. We’ve got some house improvements that we want to do.

“I think we’ll take a chunk of the winnings and enjoy it as a family and treat ourselves. We’ll make it a holiday to remember; the time we went to Florida because I won the Postcode Lottery.”

Ambassador of the People’s Postcode Lottery, Jeff Brazier, congratulated the winner, saying: “I can’t think of many better ways to start a Sunday! I couldn’t be happier for our Chorleywood winner; it sounds like they’ve already got some lovely plans for the winnings.

“I hope they get that family holiday sorted soon and have a great time in Florida.”
