Garston Bowls Club currently have a 100 per cent qualifying success rate as three of their teams have made it through to the county and national championships.
The Pairs team of Jerry Rumball and Glenn Williams; the Triples team of Danny Macro, Paul Element and Scott Lepley (with Johan Ellis as sub); and the Fours team of Johan Ellis, Phil Russell, Jerry Rumball and Glenn Williams will all compete in the championships next month.
The Hertfordshire Bowls Finals will take place at Bishop’s Stortford Bowls Club on Sunday, August 3, followed by the Bowls England National Finals in Leamington Spa later that month.
Jerry, who has qualified dozens of times over the years, told GARSTONnews: “The feeling you get from qualifying to Leamington never gets dull.”
Garston Bowls Club have won silverware in the National Finals on various occasions, most recently when Jerry and Phil won the National Senior Pairs title in 2023.
