Recruits from Hemel Hempstead Fire Station recently joined firefighters from across the country for a charity car wash event.
On Saturday, July 13, new recruits from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service hosted a charity car wash as part of a national initiative where firefighters across the UK wash cars to raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity.
The charity provides lifelong support for the UK fire services community, helping individuals and their families in their mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Mark Burgess, senior instructor at Longfield Fire and Rescue Training Centre, said: “As firefighters, we play a crucial role in keeping our communities safe and saving lives. But sometimes we need help too; The Fire Fighters Charity gives us that support when we need it most.
“It’s a fantastic charity and I’m proud of our new recruits for organising this event.”
The total amount fundraised is yet to be confirmed.
