A bestselling author will visit Apsley next month to support Frogmore Paper Mill’s recovery following a devastating fire.
Two teenagers were sentenced for arson following the fire that all but destroyed the historic paper mill in January 2022.
More than £60,000 has been raised by the community as part of a bid restore the landmark.
Bestselling author Glenda Young visited Frogmore Paper Mill as part of her research for The Paper Mill Girl, a novel set in the mill town of Ryhope in Sunderland. She will be returning to host a talk at the mill on November 10, from 7pm to 9.30pm.
A spokesperson for the mill said: “Glenda will be talking about the development of her story and the research she did with us. She will also have copies of the book available and is happy to sign them.
“This special talk is being delivered to help with Frogmore’s post-fire recovery and we are delighted that Glenda has kindly offered to travel some distance to deliver it to our audience.”
