Pupils at Yorke Mead Primary School experienced life in the fast lane as they enjoyed a unique race day event.
Oracle Red Bull Racing in partnership with STEMx (Milton Keynes University) visited the Croxley school on October 6 and 7 to provide pupils with an insight into what goes into running a Formula One team.
The school hall was transformed into an interactive pop-up workshop featuring a life-size cut-out of F1 champion Max Verstappen, a custom-built racetrack, and a media studio.
Highlights of the event included a pit stop challenge where pupils designed, built and raced their own miniature cars, a media studio where pupils took on the roles of presenters, and a design and engineering task where teams explored aerodynamics and car design.
One excited Year 5 pupil commented: “It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.”
Headteacher Lucille Pollard said: “We are incredibly grateful to Oracle Red Bull Racing and STEMx for bringing this opportunity to our pupils.”
