BEHIND THE SCENES: Filming takes place in Kings Langley for upcoming BBC drama series

Babies are taking over Kings Langley, as filming takes place for a new BBC show in the village.

Scenes for the new drama series Babies, which stars Paapa Essiedu, Siobhan Cullen, Jack Bannon and Charlotte Riley, were filmed at Toms Lane in Kings Langley.

Filming was permitted to take place from February 9 to 16, with traffic management in place.

The “warm and touching” show explores the delicate tightrope of love and loss in a young couple’s desire to become parents.

BAFTA winner Lyndsay Robinson is producing the show with Aftersun and Black Mirror’s Kelly Duffell as producer.

Alongside scenes in Kings Langley, residents with a keen eye will also be able to identify the former police station in Langley Road and Sweeny’s supermarket in Abbots Langley.

Thirty spaces were reserved for the company in the Causeway car park, but no additional spaces could be used as the council explained “this will negatively impact our residents”.

Noise control suggests that noise is kept to a minimum by “avoiding running engines and keeping other disturbances to a minimum”.

The show is also being filmed in London and other surrounding areas.
