Nearly half of all young people who miss school do so because they do not have the correct uniform or kit.
Sebby’s Corner is a charity, founded by Bushey resident Bianca Sakol, that provides help to families across London and Hertfordshire with essentials such as clothes, toys, nappies and toiletries.
For the last four years, they have run school uniform support to help families struggling with the cost of back-to-school expenses.
With a donation of £55, the charity can support one child with a complete set of uniform, shoes and stationery.
One hundred per cent of the families supported by Sebby’s Corner said the charity had helped their child to feel confident and included at school.
The charity shared: “This support not only eases financial pressure and stress, but it also ensures children are going back to school feeling confident, included and equipped to succeed.”
The charity also runs a birthday club which provides each child with a present on their birthday.
