Gymnasts in Watford are thrilled to be settling back into the sport, now that a large number of gymnastics clubs in England have opened their doors once again.
During lockdown, Dolphina Gymnastics managed to stay connected with their members via daily Facebook challenges and zoom sessions, but having reopened late in July, they are delighted to welcome members back in a phased approach.
Teresa O’Neill, managing director said: “We had the building ready nice and early; putting in social distancing measures, extra cleaning and sanitizing stations and welcomed back our squad straight away before phasing back in our novice and intermediate levels.
“We are at quarter capacity now to follow guidelines, but we are just delighted to have people back.
“We have marked out the gym, separated it into sections, introduced socks and gloves where they can be worn, and even introduced COVID-19 bags which can be used if someone like a physio needs to approach a gymnast in need.
“It’s been a challenge, and we know there is a long road ahead, but it’s great to be back in the gym, and our gymnasts have been amazing throughout this period.”
