A seven-year-old girl from Radlett who decided to cut off seven inches of her hair for charity has raised hundreds of pounds.
Radlett’s very own Rapunzel, Amelia Elgott, grew her hair significantly during lockdown with aim of cutting it off and donating it to the Little Princess Trust.
Several months and several inches of hair later, Amelia did exactly that.
Her hair will now be used by the trust for a wig, which they give to young cancer sufferers for free.
Amelia said: “I wanted to do something to help poorly children who may lose their hair during treatments.
“I was a bit nervous at first, but I set up a JustGiving Page with the help of my parents and I’ve been so excited to see how much money has been raised for the charity.”
Amelia has raised more than £700 for the charity so far. To add to the tally, go to justgiving.com/fundraising/jonathan-elgott.
