Ahimsa The Vegan Café in Pinner has continued to exhibit local artists’ works since its opening in 2016.
Currently, the café is exhibiting the work of Mary Leach, a local artist who specialises in graphic backgrounds.
Mary’s work is a collection of bright and bold graphic paintings that replicate the message of the café, full of nature, animals and spirituality.
Tejal Kachalia, operations manager at the café, said: “The concept of the café is about being connected to the community, which is why we have chosen to exhibit local artists in this way.”
Tejal is an artist herself, and as part of Pinner Sketch Club often showcases her work, which is why sharing the work of fellow local artists is a cause that is close to her heart.
She said: “As an artist, I feel it is very important to support other artists from the area, and it’s a great way to communicate with the community. These artists get to showcase their talents, and we get to share it with our customers.”
Tejal installs the works herself, and the pieces rotate every six to eight weeks, with a new artist showcasing their work every rotation. The works are also for sale, so customers can browse and purchase an original painting.
Mary’s work will be exhibited until November, when local artist Jeremy Deacon will be showcasing his work until January.
