Abstract artist Frances Ross will be coming to Radlett later this month for a live talk on prolific British artist, Bridget Riley.
Titled Op-Art: The Optical Revolution, the event has been organised by the Radlett Art Society (RAS) and will take place at the Radlett Reform Synagogue on Watling Street at 7.30pm on Thursday, September 7. The event will also be available for ticket holders to view online via Zoom.
Bridget became the most famous of all the ‘op artists’ of the 1960s, a style of art known for optical patterns on a large scale. Other artists who will be discussed in the talk include Victor Vasarely, Josef Albers and Richard Anuskiewicz.
There will be a particular focus on the op art textiles used for interiors and fashion in the 1970s.
Tickets for non-members will cost £10. To book, get the Zoom link, or to find out about becoming a member of RAS, contact Anna Cross at membership@radeltt-art-society.co.uk
