AROUSING AD UPDATE: Only Fans billboard in Pinner deemed as only ‘mildly sexual’ following 30 complaints

A promotional billboard in Pinner has been deemed to not be breaching any codes by The Advertising Standards Authority Ltd (ASA), despite some complaints over its “explicit” nature.

Eliza May Watson’s billboards have been appearing around London for the last few weeks to promote her Only Fans account, which she uses to share her amateur pornography.

On Wednesday, August 23, ASA released a statement on their site after receiving 30 complaints.

A spokesperson for ASA said: “We noted that, while the OnlyFans website features explicit adult content, the ad itself did not feature any explicit imagery. It did not contain anything indicating an exploitative or degrading scenario or tone.

“As such, we concluded that it was unlikely to cause serious or widespread offence. Given the ad was not overtly sexual and did not objectify women, we concluded that the ad had not been placed irresponsibly on public posters.”

Eliza told Pinner News: “I’m pleased and reassured. People can be forgiven for having negative attitudes. But when you remove the emotionality from it, the advert doesn’t do any harm.

“We are legitimate business owners; we pay taxes and employ people. We’re not doing anything against the law.”

Despite the controversy, Eliza says the response has been better than expected.

She said: “When someone does something off the wall, especially a woman and especially about sexuality, the backlash is expected, but the response has actually been positive. My mum and dad even congratulated me!”
