ARMED SUSPECT: Second man charged with possession of a firearm following incident in Watford

A second man has been charged with possession of a firearm following an incident in Watford.

Police were contacted on Tuesday, September 24 by CCTV operators at the Atria shopping centre to report an incident between three men.

It is reported that two of the men, one of whom was believed to be in possession of a gun, pointed the weapon towards another man. The victim made off from the scene.

As part of enquiries, a discarded firearm was located in Sainsbury’s car park in Albert Road South.

Officers investigating the incident have recently identified a second suspect.

Louis Brown, 25, of Union Street, Luton, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.

He appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 7 and was remanded into custody. Brown is next due at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday, November 5.

Officers previously charged Mohammed Al-Saadi, 23, of Eltham Avenue, Slough, with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence and possession of a knife/bladed article. Al-Saadi will next appear at St Albans Crown Court on Thursday, October 24.

Detective Sergeant Sarah Hern, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “I’m pleased that we have been able to secure more charges in connection with this incident. Our investigation continues and we are committed to doing all we can to ensure these kinds of weapons are not on our streets.”
