APPLICATION WITHDRAWN FOR HOMES ON BOUNDARY WAY

Published on: 2nd June 2014   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category:

Plans to build 70 new homes on a Garston estate have been withdrawn after councillors and residents vehemently opposed the application. More than 100 objections were raised by residents and this has led to the Watford Community Housing Trust to withdraw its two applications, which included knocking down garages on the Boundary Way estate and building multi-storey flat blocks on existing green spaces. The designs for the flat blocks looked “East German and Russian” according to Three Rivers District Council planning committee. Leavesden councillor Stephen-Giles Medhurst said it was “a step in the right direction” and that although the Trust are coming back with revised plans for the site, he added they would need “radical changes not just tweaking”.
