Appeal following incidents in Chorleywood

Police are appealing for witnesses and information and asking people to be vigilant following a small number of burglaries and attempted burglaries in Chorleywood in recent days. Officers are currently investigating the following offences: Between 3.20pm and 5pm on Tuesday September 8, offender(s) attempted to force entry to a house in Orchard Drive (C2/15/2155). They were unsuccessful in gaining entry Between 1pm and 9.30pm on Wednesday, September 9, offender(s), forced entry to the rear window of a house in Harewood, stealing items. (C2/15/2167). Between 6.30am and 1.45pm on Thursday, September 10, offender(s) forced entry to a window of a house and garage at a property in South Park Avenue. A number of items of jewellery were stolen (C2/15/2172). A burglary at Chorleywood Memorial Hall, Chorleywood Common between 5.10pm on September 7 and 8am on September 8. Between these times offender(s) have forced entry to the building and taken power tools worth over £100 (C2/15/2149) It is not clear at this time if the crimes are linked. Detective Inspector for Three Rivers, Phil Moss, said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the Chorleywood area in recent days and saw anything suspicious to please contact police with information. I would also ask people to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity. “I would also like to take this opportunity to ask members of the public to consider some simple crime prevention advice to help protect their property.*” Anyone with information should please contact the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting one of the crime reference numbers above.
