Detectives investigating a burglary that occurred in Watford are releasing images of several bicycles that were stolen in an attempt to locate them and find the person or people responsible for the theft. Between 2am and 3.30am on Wednesday, August 26, the offenders gained access to the rear of Cycleopedia, which is in Merton Road, and stole four bicycles. It is believed the offender(s) left the store via the rear after one of the bicycles was recovered near the store’s car park. The bicycles stolen were: a black Turner Salton, which has orange handlebars and orange stickers on the wheels (similar to the one pictured), a green, medium Specialized 2016 Stumpjumper Elite (pictured) and a green, medium Specialized 2016 Stumpjumper Comp (pictured). The fourth bicycle, which has been recovered, is a black and red Cube Aerium racer. Detective Constable Solomon Beere is investigating and said: “The bicycles stolen are distinctive and I would ask anyone who is offered them for sale, or knows of their whereabouts, to contact me straight away. “It’s believed the offender(s) have left passing the mosque and into Victoria Passage and so I would also like to hear from anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious near the shop between the stated times.” Anyone with any information in relation to this incident should contact DC Beere via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C1/15/3999. If you have any information about this incident you can contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
