The St Albans Neighbourhood Policing Team and St Albans City & District Council have secured a closure order at an address in St Albans.
The order was granted by St Albans Magistrates’ Court to close a Telford Court address for three months on Thursday, February 22, due to suspected drug activity and anti-social behaviour.
St Albans Neighbourhood Sergeant Simon Totten said: “We received numerous complaints regarding drug activity and anti-social behaviour at the address, which was having a detrimental effect on residents. St Albans City & District Council obtained the order with support from us.”
The closure order was granted under Section 80 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014. It bans anyone, other than police or maintenance workers from entering the property for three months.
He said: “Local residents should not have to put up with this kind of activity impacting their daily lives. I hope this has reassured them that we take reports like this very seriously and along with our partners, have worked hard to gather evidence to support the closure order application.
“We will use every available tactic to tackle anti-social behaviour and I would continue to urge members of the community to report any anti-social behaviour to the police.”
