A man accused of several kidnaps and rapes, one of which took place in Watford, has been charged with a string of other offences.
Joseph McCann, 34, has already been charged with 21 offences and has now been formally accused of 14 more which means he faces a total of 35 charges.
He chose not to appear at The Old Bailey at the hearing on July 26.
Mr McCann is charged with eight counts of rape, seven counts of kidnap, one count of attempted kidnap, 10 counts of false imprisonment, five counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity, three counts of assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault.

Mr Justice Edis said: “The defendant needs to understand that if he chooses to absent himself from the trial it will proceed in his absence.”
He is next due to appear for trial at the Old Bailey on Monday, November 11 and will remain in custody until this date.
