A major supermarket has made a large donation to help support young people in Gerrards Cross.
Tesco donated funds to charity Action4Youth to support their mentoring programmes for young people in Gerrards Cross, Amersham, Buckingham and Princes Risborough.
The funding will ensure that more young people have access to personalised guidance, educational support and mentorship opportunities.
Local Action4Youth mentors Holly and Philmore work with young people to help discover productive solutions to any issues they may be experiencing.
Philmore said: “We believe in the potential of every young person and understand the importance of providing them with the necessary support and guidance to navigate life’s challenges.”
One local resident whom the programme has helped is Year 11 student Finley (not his real name).
Finley’s mentor supported Finley by taking him to his boxing sessions and stayed to watch. The boxing coach commented on how much potential Finley had, which helped boost his self-confidence. Finley was concerned about travelling to the boxing sessions, so his mentor spoke to the coach and arranged for the coach to visit him at home.
