Students from Northwood’s own St Helen’s School are continuing to dominate the local badminton scene.
Following on from being crowned national champions last month, further success has now come in even more competitions.
In the Herts and Middlesex Elite Doubles Badminton Tournament, where top players across the county competed regardless of age, top team Asha and Ana sailed through the games, eventually winning the whole event with a flawless final, trouncing their opponents 21-6.
Another pair, Keya and Kareena, finished 3rd in their group, winning their event comfortably, whilst two other pairs, Amiya and Khadeeja and Shreya and Anisha, made it into the quarterfinals and semi-finals respectively.
The school also achieved great success at the Hertfordshire B Singles Event, where players from Years 7 to 13 competed. Khadeeja won the under-15s girls singles, Shreya was a close runner-up in the under-18s girls singles and Esha also came second in the under-13s girls singles.
