Abbots Autumn Fest

Published on: 9th July 2018   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Come along to the Abbots Autumn Fest (previously the Abbots Apple Fest), on Saturday September 22. It will be held on School Mead, Abbots Langley WD5 0LA, from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

Building on the success of last year a fun filled, low tech event for all of the family is planned.

The main purpose is to promote the availability of locally produced foods. Many local food providers will be in attendance, offering produce to buy on the day.

Once again fruit trees will be offered for sale by Sunnyside Rural Trust with advice on planting and care.

Why not buy a fruit tree for your front garden and make the fruit available to passers-by?

Many activities are planned: Primrose Heath Puppets, Funfair, Petting Zoo, Face Painting, Coconut Shy, Watford Cycle Hub, and Bicycle Marking by the Police, and more.

Many local Charity and Community Groups will be in attendance showcasing their work and fund raising.

There will be live music and entertainment organised by Tom Craven and Papermouth, including the Woodside Morris Men, Tappalachian Dance Group, and more to be confirmed.

Food and Drink to enjoy on the day will include tea and cake at the Baptist Church Hall, Simon East Butcher with Hot Food, a Licensed Bar and Coffee Ethic. The local shops of School Mead will be open for business as usual.

Tables and Chairs will be set up on the green, bring the family, ideally take the bus or bring your bicycle in, and enjoy the day. Put the date in your diary. Saturday 22nd September 11:00am to 4:00pm.
