When Corrie Mustafa steps into a gym, he transforms. Focused and relentless, the Bushey fighter commands every corner, every bag, every rope. In 2026, he has brought the same energy in what is his comeback year.
The first success came Friday, February 28, at Saint Albert’s Combat Shutdown when Corrie was scheduled to face an opponent who withdrew.
After a late replacement stepped in, Corrie wasted no time making his mark. In the second round he broke his opponent’s nose before finishing the bout.
Speaking to BUSHEYnews, he said: “I was told I dominated the fight, which was surprising to everyone considering last year when I lost.”
Barely recovering, Corrie fought again days later. Facing a seasoned adversary, he adapted his usual long-distance style to relentless pressure, targeting the body and knocking his opponent down twice.
Two knockdowns later, he walked away with his second victory. Each win is not a mark in the record book, but a statement: Corrie is back, and he owns his space. However, boxing is not sport for Corrie but a purpose.
Diagnosed with ADHD and having faced early life challenges, the gym became his sanctuary and the ring his proving ground. He said: “If it helps me, then I feel like I can help other people.”
Corrie is combining discipline, advocacy, and a work ethic to prove when he steps into any space in or out of the ring, he dominates.
