A man from Radlett has started brewing local ales for the very first time, after setting up a micro brewery on one of Lord Aldenham’s farms recently. Rudi Keyser, who came over to England from South Africa seven years ago, began brewing the ales, with branding called Watling Street, earlier this year and his first casks were ready to be distributed last month. So far Rudi has brewed two ales at Hilfield Farm, the golden ale and the premium ale, and hopes pubs in the area will buy into what is a very exclusive local alcoholic beverage. He said: “We have approached pubs such as the Waggon & Horses locally but also other pubs in the county. “I think what we have done here is fantastic and we haven’t strayed far from brewing a traditional ale. “We wanted to do something fairly standard for our first try and am sure lots of people will enjoy it.” For more about this read the next edition of My Radlett & Shenley News out on July 31.
