A community group in Watford alongside local councillors organised and delivered hundreds of festive gifts for elderly and vulnerable people this Christmas.
Courtlands Residents Association and Nascot councillors handed out two hundred and fifty Christmas treat boxes to local care homes and other vulnerable residents for Christmas.
Residents and staff at Tremona Rest Home, Hollytree House, Greenbanks Care Home, Courtlands Lodge and Victoria House were given wrapped and labelled boxes of chocolates.
The parcels were paid for with donations from the Courtlands Residents Association community group and local councillors.
Liberal Democrat Nascot Councillor Mark Hofman said: “This Christmas will be another challenging time for our care home residents.
“COVID restrictions and not being able to see all of their family and friends will be difficult for many of our elderly and vulnerable neighbours, and the carers who work tirelessly to ensure their residents are well looked after.
“That’s why it is more important than ever that we let them know that we’re thinking of them during this testing period and share our good wishes in any way that we can.”
