TUDORS STUMBLE: Hemel FC slip out of FA Cup

Hemel FC suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss in the Second Round Qualifying match away to Beaconsfield Town this weekend (Saturday, September 21).

The Tudors, who went into the game in fantastic form, dominated much of the first half against the BetVictor Southern Premier South opponents.

They could’ve gone ahead 15 minutes in when Beaconsfield’s ‘keeper was caught in no man’s land as he came out to collect a loose ball, but Hemel couldn’t capitalise.

The away side also had plenty of corners throughout the half, coming closest in the 37th minute when Howell delivered a great corner into the box – German got his head to it but it went narrowly over the crossbar.

The Tudors were far less cutting-edge in the second half and Beaconsfield found it far easier to stay in the game.

The home side ended up nicking it with nine minutes to go courtesy of Reece Yorke, and Hemel had no response before the final whistle.

Hemel FC manager Sammy Moore tweeted after the game: “Apologies to every single fan that travelled today.

“We as a group management/players have let you down today no where near good enough. That aside if you don’t take your chances you don’t win games of football good luck to Beaconsfield FC in the next round.”
