Little over a month after a fundraising appeal was launched to restore the historic bells of St James the Apostle, more than £20,000 has already been raised. The bid to restore the eight bells in the church tower was launched just before Christmas. The oldest was cast in the 15th Century church yard, while two others date back to the Great Fire of London. Fundraisers need to hit £90,000 so the work can be carried out. A fundraising concert, called Ring Out Wild Bells, is now due to take place on February 9 at 3pm at St Pauls Church on Bushey Hall Road.
