TERRIFIC TALIA: Singer-songwriter from Hemel explores darker themes with new project

Published on: 15th December 2024   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category: Uncategorized

This month, Hemel News spoke with Talia Dussek following the release of her latest single with production duo Synosure.

Hemel resident Talia knew she wanted to work in the music industry from a young age.

Talia said: “The music department at The Hemel Hempstead School, particularly Ms Bailey, supported everything I did. It helped to have that foundation.”

Since then, the singer-songwriter has appeared on BBC 3CR and BBC Music Introducing. Earlier this month, she released her third single under the name BEATRIX, in homage to her middle name.

Talia is inspired by the likes of Raye, Olivia Dean and Chappell Roan. She explained that her six-year strong relationship has inspired a great deal of love songs but is “aware it is such an oversaturated market”. She decided to travel, which inspired her to take a new journey with her music and shine a light on some darker themes.

She continued: “My first release was inspired by a night out at university. I was in my first year, and there was a trend in Brighton with needle spiking. Unfortunately, it happened to me. There’s this lyric that says, ‘Hoping my conscious won’t slip away again’.”

Her latest song, See You Later, was released on Friday, November 8, in collaboration with the EDM production duo Synosure.

Talia continued: “I’m really excited about it, and the support from Sirup Music and Ensis Records is great validation. The response has been really positive, and people seem to like the sassy vibes.”
