Local residents, councillors and the MP for Watford commemorated Holocaust Memorial Day last month.
On Tuesday, January 21, the Holocaust Educational Trust hosted Matt Turmaine, MP for Watford, to delve into how virtual reality can help people to explore history.
Mr Turmaine MP, who donned a headset at an exhibition held in Westminster, said: “Putting the goggles on, hearing the testimony of survivor Manfred Goldberg, watching his story unfold, was certainly engrossing.
“The Holocaust Educational Trust offers quality learning opportunities and students have the chance to improve their knowledge about what is sadly a very grim but vitally important topic.”
Then on Monday, January 27, a wreath-laying celebration was held at Anne Frank’s tree outside Watford Library.
Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “The theme of this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day is ‘For a Better Future’. We must always stand together against discrimination, racism and hatred.”
