A pub in Amersham has put out an appeal, urging customers to treat staff with respect, after a number of back to back incidents of abuse against its staff.
The Eagle Pub on the high street is a historic Grade II listed pub, which has recently undergone a £277,000 refurbishment, and just reopened its doors to the public again.
The manager shared a heartfelt post on social media, making it clear that abuse of staff members will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and that staff wellbeing is a top priority.
The post, published on June 26, reads: “It saddens me to have to make a post like this after only being open for three weeks, but abuse of my staff will not be tolerated at The Eagle.
“We have had three incidents in the last week against both of our female staff. No, it’s not banter.
“All of my staff, male or female, are in relationships so do not approach them in a manner that is inappropriate.
“We are a friendly and relaxed, community pub but protection of my staff’s wellbeing is a top priority for me.
“We love welcoming everyone through our doors and always show the utmost respect, please do us the courtesy of showing us the same respect. Thank you.”
The Eagle have been contacted for comment.
