Last weekend the Croxley community came together in a bid to clean up the village and collected around 140kg of litter.
On Sunday, December 13 the Croxley Green Parish Council hosted a litter pick event with around 30 residents joining to help, despite the rainy weather on the day.
James Townley, grounds maintenance manager, said the council had to take a slightly different approach this year due to the pandemic.
He said: “We normally arrange them for a specific location, we’ve done them in our woodland before.
“This time because of COVID we didn’t want too many people in the same area so we organised it so that everyone could pick up the litter pickers and bags from a central location and they could pick wherever they wanted to go in Croxley.”
James added that the council are hoping to do more in 2021 and will be planning some events.
He said: “This one went quite well, and we managed to keep every socially distanced and everything was sanitised.
“The council is definitely keen to do more, we are looking to do at least two more community wide and match those up with the Keep Britain Tidy campaign.”
