Officers have arrested two people in relation to drug offences following two warrants.

The warrants were carried out at an address in Kensington Way, Borehamwood and a property in Edgware last Wednesday (February 2).

Approximately £10,000 in cash was seized from the property in Borehamwood and two men – a 30-year-old from Borehamwood and a 23-year-old from Edgware were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and money laundering.

They have since been released under investigation while further enquiries are carried out.

The warrants were executed in partnership with Avon and Somerset Police, Dorset Police and the Metropolitan Police and is part of a larger investigation into courier frauds.

PC Paul Norman from the Hertsmere Operation Scorpion team, which works to tackle serious acquisitive crime and drug related offences, said: “Organised crime groups are responsible for the supply of illegal drugs into this country and their work causes significant harm to some of society’s most vulnerable.

“This includes using children as drug runners, forcibly taking over people’s homes to create a base to conduct their drug dealing (also known as cuckooing) and taking advantage of vulnerable addicts.

“We will continue to work relentlessly to target those involved in the supply of illegal drugs in Hertsmere. If you have information about suspected drug dealing in your neighbourhood, please do not hesitate to get in touch so that we can take the appropriate action.”

You can report information online, use the online web chat, or call the non-emergency number 101.
