A Kings Langley man was fined £1,000 for illegally using a disabled badge to park.
On June 11, 2024, Georgi Ivanov Todev, of Ovaltine Drive, Kings Langley, had parked in a space in Musard Road, London.
A disabled person’s concession was available when he displayed the badge.
He was charged with unlawfully using a disabled person’s badge in relation to the parking of a vehicle.
According to Blue Badge Aware, under Section 117 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, it is a criminal offence to misuse the Blue Badge.
If you are convicted, then you may get a criminal record and a possible fine of £1,000. The Blue Badge may also be withdrawn.
On Wednesday, January 15, Westminster Magistrates’ Court fined the 37-year-old £440 as well as ordering him to pay £554 in costs and a £176 victim services surcharge.
Todev will have to pay a total of £1,170 by Wednesday, February 12.
