An Amersham rugby club is celebrating its 100th season this year.
Amersham & Chiltern Rugby played their very first match on Boxing Day 1924, meaning the upcoming 2024/25 season marks “the centenary for our great club”.
The year is set to be a busy one, with a number of special events already lined up, including a grand dinner at the club on October 12 with Wayne Barnes as special guest speaker.
A spokesperson for the club said: “We are a volunteer club and will need a lot of support to deliver the key events. Some of you have already come forward to join the organising group. We need more volunteers to make sure each event is a success. If you would like to help in any way, we would like to hear from you.
“It is so important that club members support our centenary year. We are a proud club with a wonderful heritage. Over the decades, so many have benefitted from the opportunities the club offers, and it is important that we mark our centenary appropriately.”
Anyone looking to volunteer with the club is asked to contact Jennie Cahill at jennie.cahill@icloud.com
