Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the theft of a mobility scooter in Garston on August 15. The red Shopper scooter, worth £1,500, was taken between 7.30pm and 8pm having been left outside Impulse Audio near to the junction with Leggatts Wood Avenue. PC Ben Harvey is investigating and said: “The victim, a 77 year old man, needs this scooter to get around and understandably would like it returned as it gives him independence. If you were in the area at the time and saw what happened, know who may have been responsible for taking it or have seen or been offered an item such as this for sale, please contact me.” Anyone with information should please contact PC Ben Harvey via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number C4/15/1905. Alternatively contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
