Yarnbomb Hemel Hempstead have been busy working on Christmas knits to display throughout the town in December.
Christine Allsopp, founder of Yarnbomb Hemel said: “The response from the community has been really positive. We have been asked to keep the Remembrance display up in the Watergardens for longer and are now in the process of making Christmas trees to tie on the bridge with the Poppies.”
The Yarn Bombers began making small displays in 2018 and have rapidly grown into a large community of over 400 members.
The group have created 12 days of Christmas postbox toppers and are challenging people to walk around the town and spot them all.
Christine added: “With the situation at the moment there are lots of people out on their walks, families can use this as a fun activity to spot the different Christmas toppers and brighten their day.”
Yarn Bomb Hemel Hempstead supports local charities including the Hemel Hempstead Poppy Appeal and Roald Dahl’s Marvelous Children’s Charity.
