Hatch End councillor Matthew Goodwin-Freeman announced on Friday, September 26, that he had been nominated for a Conservative Councillors’ Association (CCA) Local Government Award.
A letter sent to him from the CCA states: “I am delighted to let you know you have been nominated. This is a wonderful recognition of your hard work, dedication, and the positive impact you have made in your community. To celebrate you and all our nominees, I would be thrilled to welcome you to the CCA Drinks Reception.”
This year marks the CCA’s inaugural awards, which honour “remarkable Conservatives who work tirelessly for their communities”.
Sharing his gratitude on social media, cllr Goodwin-Freeman said: “Thank you! It means so much – the hours and hours behind the scenes just trying to make a difference, so thank you!”
The awards took place on Sunday, October 5, and while cllr Goodwin-Freeman didn’t receive the award, he said: “It means so much that I was nominated and my work was at least recognised!”
