Published on: 28th November 2021   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Detectives investigating a robbery in Borehamwood are appealing for witnesses to come forward and are particularly keen to trace a passing motorist who attempted to intervene.

The incident occurred outside Milby Court in Leeming Road, at around 1.45pm on Sunday, November 14.

The victim, a man aged in his late 30s, was walking along the road when he was approached by two men and struck with an unknown object, causing him to fall to the ground.

Cash and a mobile phone were subsequently stolen.

A 41-year-old man from Borehamwood has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail while enquiries continue.

PC Jay Jeffrey, from the Borehamwood Local Crime Unit, said: “Thankfully the victim wasn’t seriously injured during the incident, but it has left him worried and shaken.

“Our enquiries are continuing at this time. As part of the investigation, we’re appealing for anyone who saw what happened to please get in touch.

“It’s believed a number of people were in the area at the time.

“We’re particularly keen to hear from someone who is reported to have exited a passing vehicle and tried to intervene. The victim was unable to get a description of them.

“If you have any information at all, please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to please contact DC Jeffrey via email.
