WITNESS APPEAL: Police continue investigation after man seriously injured in Watford road collision

Published on: 13th October 2025   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Hertfordshire Police are sharing an image of a possible witness’s vehicle following a road traffic collision in Watford, and are urging the owner to come forward.

At around 2pm on Friday, September 5, a red Volkswagen Golf was travelling down Stratford Way towards the junction with Cassiobury Drive. The vehicle was involved in a collision with a stationary vehicle, causing damage to a bush and a further car that was parked on a driveway.

The driver of the first stationary vehicle, a man aged in his 70s, sustained numerous serious injuries.

Officers are releasing an image of a red vehicle that was being driving along Stratford Way at the time, and are appealing for the owner to come forward as they may have witnessed the Golf’s movements prior to the collision, or seen the collision itself.

The driver of the Golf remained at the scene to assist officers with their enquiries.

PC Charley Lawrence said: “We hope the owner of the red vehicle will recognise themselves, remember the incident and come forward to help progress our investigation. They are not in trouble, but their account may help us piece together what happened.”
