WITNESS APPEAL: Hertsmere suffers month of ‘linked’ aggravated burglaries

Witnesses are being sought after a series of aggravated burglaries in Hertsmere.

On Tuesday, March 7, between 10.45pm and 11.15pm, it is reported that two suspects entered the Tesco Express store on Andrew Close, Shenley.

They went behind the tills and took a large amount of cigarettes having threatened a member of staff. Information on this incident can be sent to the police using the crime reference number 41/19261/23.

On Monday, March 13, between 10pm and 10.30pm, it is reported that two suspects entered the Studio Way Food and Wine store on Studio Way, Borehamwood.

They went behind the tills and removed cash and a mobile phone having threatened a member of staff. Information on this incident can be sent to the police using the crime reference number 41/20931/23.

On Sunday, March 26, between 8.45pm and 9.15pm, it is reported that a suspect entered Budgens on High Road, Bushey Heath.

The suspect went behind the tills and took a large amount of cigarettes and cash having threatened a member of staff.

The suspect in the third incident has been described as wearing black trainers, black trousers, a black jacket, black balaclava and black gloves. Information on this incident can be sent to the police using the crime reference number 41/24792/23.

DC Mollie Goodwin, who is investigating, said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and we are appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.

“We believe these three incidents are linked, and we would like to hear from anyone who may have information or saw anyone acting suspiciously around this time.”
