Police are appealing for witnesses, information, and CCTV footage from any properties along Main Avenue, as well as dashcam footage, following a road traffic collision in Rickmansworth.
It is reported that at around 8.20am on Tuesday, December 2, a DAF road sweeper truck was travelling along Main Avenue in the Moor Park area in the direction of Pembroke Road, which was cleaning the side of the road, when it collided with a pedestrian.
Officers attended the scene along with colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service and a woman in her 80s who sustained serious injuries in the collision was taken to the hospital, where she remains in a stable condition. The driver of the DAF Truck was arrested for causing serious injury by careless driving.
Detective Sergeant Shona Birkby, from the Serious Injury Collision Unit, said: “If you witnessed the collision or saw the sweeper travelling in the area prior to it, please report it to us.”
