New CCTV cameras have been installed in Abbots Langley and other areas across Three Rivers to deter crime and anti-social behaviour.
Following a £76,716 funding allocation from Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) to the Three Rivers Community Safety Partnership, nine CCTV cameras have been installed in Abbots Langley, Rickmansworth, Mill End, Carpenders Park, and South Oxhey.
As reported in the May edition of ABBOTSnews, the new cameras have been installed at Furtherfield after a number of fly-tipping complaints, and Katherine Place due to anti-social behaviour.
The funds came from TRDC’s Community Infrastructure Levy pot – a charge on new developments within the district.
Councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of TRDC, said: “We are committed to keeping our areas safe, so having these cameras, along with our other community safety initiatives, will help us to deter and further prevent crime and anti-social behaviour.
“So, if you are fly-tipper or commit any other crime and anti-social behaviour, we will be watching you.”
