A Watford man has been jailed for two years for a road rage attack in which he headbutted and punched the victim in front of his wife and child.
Lloyd Clark, 29, was driving in Euston Avenue, Watford when he came face to face with the man’s car.
St Albans Crown Court heard the victim began to reverse and then drove forward to get out of Clarks way but he was unable to get past.
He moved into a space and Clark got out of his car and began to abuse him.
The man decided to get out and tried to calm Clark down, but he headbutted and then punched him, knocking him to the ground before coming back and delivering another blow.
He suffered injuries to his face and lips and a cut to the back of his head when he fell.
The man went to hospital and returned the next day with a very sore left eye. He still suffers flashbacks.
Clark, of Euston Avenue, Watford, was convicted of causing actual bodily harm to the man at 9pm on May 7 last year. He had previous convictions for violence and drug offences.
Jailing him, Judge Michael Kay QC told him: “This was thuggish, mindless violence for no reason whatsoever in the presence of the victim’s wife and child. Your actions were brainless.”
