Steven, from Watford, was named Star Baker for the second week running as the Great British Bake Off returned to our TV screens. The 34-year-old, who comes from a family of strong baking women, impressed on biscuit week with his stunning chess board show stopper. For the technical challenge, judge Paul Hollywood challenged the bakers to make fortune cookies where Steven came in sixth place. He also impressed with his Amarspressi biscuits – piped biscuits made with whisked egg whites, ground almonds, semolina and amaretto, sandwiched together with a coffee and chocolate flavoured Italian-style filling. He has been tipped by many people on social media to be in the final of the show after a perfect two-week run as star baker. Next week the contestants will take on bread week.
