Patients at Watford General Hospital have been given bottled drinking water after a problem was detected with the water supply. Hospital chiefs put a series of measures in place including calling the fire brigade to maintain a temporary water supply after an internal incident was declared at 2.15pm. Basic non-drinking water has now been reinstated and it is anticipated that the drinking water supply will be available this evening. Hospital bosses apologised for inconvenience caused to patients and visitors.
