WATER SHORTAGE: Burst pipe leaves roads flooded as homes in Watford go without water

Published on: 7th March 2021   |   By: Holly Bullen   |   Category: Uncategorized

A burst water pipe in Watford has left homes across the town without water and roads flooded.

The burst pipe on St Albans Road has left Rickmansworth road flooded with road diversions in place.

In a statement on Affinity Water’s website, they updated residents on the process of the repair with an alternative water supply unlikely to be required.

The statement read: “Our repair team are working hard to fix the burst pipe on St. Albans Road and get your water back to normal. We are awaiting further traffic management to arrive in order for out teams to safely and successfully complete the repair.

“As soon as we have further information, or a timeframe for the repair to be completed, we will let you know.

“Our repair team will look at alternative water supplies if it is looking likely that the repair is taking longer than anticipated. However, at this stage, we are not expecting any delays for the repair to be completed.

“We’re really sorry about this and thank you for your patience.”

The water company also recommended residents that do still have water to put some in the kettle or fridge, just in case the water needs switching off for repair.

Updates on the repair process are available here.
