Watford featherweight boxer Reece Bellotti was defeated in the ring at Matchroom Boxing’s Fight Camp on Saturday night against Jordan Gill with a unanimous decision on points.

The judges scored the bout in favour of the 26-year-old Gill, with scores of 97-93, 97-93 and 96-95.

This was Bellotti’s first fight since October 2019 where he was beaten by Francesco Grandelli via a split decision.

After the fight, victor Jordan Gill praised Bellotti on SkySports saying: “All credit to Reece, he brought his A-game. I think that was probably the best Reece Bellotti we have seen.

“He’s taken a lot of experience from those losses and put them into a really good performance, I think he can come back and definitely win titles.”

Bellotti’s boxing record is now 14-4 with 12 knockout victories but did admit before the fight yesterday that it would be difficult to come back if he was to be defeated by Gill.

Speaking before the fight, Bellotti said: “It’s a massive fight for me to climb back up the ladder and get back into the mix. It is make or break, 100 per cent.

“I’ve got to beat people like Jordan if I want to get where I want to be, I’ve had bumps in the road, but now it’s time to stabilise and move forward.”
