Two men have been charged in connection with an alleged burglary in Loudwater.

Kaine Milstead, 22, of Brookside Avenue in Ashford, Middlesex, has been charged with burglary, theft of motor vehicle, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

Chris Langley, 26, of Waller Road, Beaconsfield, has been charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

The burglary charge relates to a break-in that is alleged to have occurred in Loudwater Lane, Loudwater on the morning December 4.

Mr Milstead is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on January 7, 2019, and Mr Langley is due to appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on January 8, 2019.

Sergeant Neil Canning, from the Rickmansworth safer neighbourhood team, said: “We have been carrying out a targeted and proactive operation in Three Rivers to identify and arrest those who are responsible for burglaries in the area.

“As part of this, Operation Scorpion teams have been conducting patrols in neighbourhoods to identify any suspicious behaviour. My message to thieves who are considering coming to Three Rivers to target homes is to think twice as we will arrest you.

“I’d also like to remind residents to report any suspicious behaviour to police by calling the non-emergency number 101 or submit details online at www.herts.police.uk/report. There is also key advice about how to make your home less appealing to thieves on our website at https://www.herts.police.uk/Information-and-services/Advice/Crime-prevention.”
